Methamphetamine - 10 % Amphetamine - 8 % Background 3,4 - methylenedioxymethamphetamine, also known as MDMA, ecstasy, or molly, is a synthetic psychoactive substance that alters mood and perception. Developed in the early 20th century, MDMA later gained popularity for its use in psychotherapy before became associated with recreational settings. Differing from other amphetamines structurally, attachment of a methylenedioxy group, it can produce the effects of both amphetamines and hallucinogens.
